The Hobbit There and Back Again This book was written by an English writer and Oxford teacher J.R.R. Tolkien. “The Hobbit” was published in 1939 in England for the first time, in Poland the first publication was in 1960. The action takes place in mystic and fantastic province – Middleearth. Bilbo Baggins – the title character – together with his company or dwarfs and a wizard Gandalf the Gray are venturing for a dangerous adventure.
They want to go to the Lonely Mountain, because there are a lot of riches and treasures inside – they are guarded by Smaug the Dragon. During the expedition Bilbo finds a magic ring. If you wear this ring, you’ll be unseen. “The Hobbit” was inspired by Old English legends – the speciality of the author. The book was made into three movies. In our opinion “The Hobbit” is very interesting and addictive.
